I had but one goal with this project: take every cheesy wedding craft cliché and cram it into one book. I swept through the wedding section of Michaels like a kid doing one of those Toys R Us runs back in the 90s. I dug up the swirliest fonts I could find. I grabbed the sparkly gold lotka that’d been idling on my shelf. I… discovered that textured paper actually looks really cool alongside cutouts? Whaddya know.
(That genuinely is something I want to play with more in future projects! If I’m already creating different textures on a cover via cutouts, why not take it to the next level with highly textured paper?)
I really did have a ton of fun with this. I’m already a sucker for fake marriage + accidental baby acquisition, so getting to style a whole book around it was a blast. And yes, those are thematically-appropriate teddy bears on the endsheets.
