My first anthology! A friend asked me to collect her favorites of Astolat’s Witcher fics, which gave me a chance to fuss around with the typesetting in ways I hadn’t before. Like a two-page title spread! And a(n admittedly very simple) table of contents! And drop caps! This book was my drop caps gateway drug, and I am now a FIEND.

For the cover, I used a thick, heavy lotka paper rather than book cloth this time. Originally, I planned to coat it in a wax/resin emulsion, which I’ve done before in my book conservation work to give textured papers a more leather-like appearance… but, unfortunately, I discovered pretty quick that the paper was too absorbent for that; it just sucked up the emulsion and barely looked any different. It worked out for the best, though – I love the almost suede-like look of the case from certain angles.

The collected fics are “Misethere,” “Blooded Crown,” “By Any Other Name,” and “A Year in Toussaint.” You can read them all at the link above! (And Volume Two might be coming someday to gather up the rest of the fic. Maybe. 👀)
