It’s done! And hoo boy was this book a Learning Experience. I used a lot of new equipment (guess who’s got a bookbinding guillotine now, AW YEAH), I tried a lot of new things, and while I’m very pleased with the end result, there were also plenty of nights where I gently laid my head on my work table and prayed for something – anything! – to go right.
One of my biggest lessons: if you get fancy paper, keep it simple and let the paper speak for itself! (In this case, the paper says, “I am ✨fabulous✨, and also very thematically appropriate for a story involving a cursed mirror.”) This is also the first time I designed an actual splash page, which is something I’m definitely going to keep doing in the future.
